Man United, Chelsea Weekend Preview and Stats: Game Week 35

The weekend did not go according to plan for the teams from Manchester, as both Manchester united and their noisy neighbors  Manchester city played out draws in their respective fixtures. Manchester united playing at Old Trafford on home turf played out a 1-1 draw with relegation threatened Swansea.

Manchester united took the lead through captain Wayne Rooney back in the team for the second game running from the penalty spot after youngster Marcus Rashford dived in the box and tricked referee Neil Swarbrick into awarding a penalty.

Rooney went from hero to villain as he committed a foul in the 77th minute that resulted in a free-kick, free-kick maestro Gylfi Sigurdsson dully obliged with a master class that made united goal-keeper de-gea stop and stare.

Manchester neighbors city played a 2-2 draw with another relegation battling team middlesbrough. city came from behind twice first through Sergio Aguero cancelling out former city striker Alvaro Negredo opener and new city sensation and brazil import Gabriel Jesus levelling matters after calum chambers gave boro a 2-1 advantage.

Away from manchester were the super sunday encounters, first up was Everton against Chelsea at Goodison park and it was almost a repeat of the first leg encounter earlier in the season that ended 5-0 in favour of Chelsea.

On this occassion the score-line was 3-0 with a screamer from Pedro Rodriguez and two further goals from defender gary cahill and substitute willian.

Seasons leading scorer and former chelsea striker Romelu lukaku was tamed for the first time at home in as many matches also bringing to an end everton unbeaten home run.

The match that got tongues wagging is the super sunday london derby between totteham and arsenal at white hart lane, totteham are not showing any signs of slippig up in the title chase as they maintain their winning streak.

This time it is arsenal that fell prey to their impressive run as they were dispatched 2-0 with goals from England duo Dele alli who scored his first derby goal against arsenal and striker harry kane. kane’s goal from the penalty spot after he was fouled by Gabriel is the final derby goal at white hart lane before their move to wembley for the 2017/18 season.

The final fixture of the weekned was monday night encounter between Watford and liverpool. the match was settled by an acrobatic beauty from German midfielder emre can just before half time, a goal the liverpool midfielder described as the best goal of his career so far. the game ended 0-1 in favour of the away team Liverpool.

Other weekend results include; Southampton 0-0 hull city, stoke city 0-0 west ham, Sunderland 0-1 afc Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion 0-1 Leicester, Crystal Palace 0- Burnley 2,Everton 0- Chelsea 3.
