Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy has been linked with both Manchester City and Liverpool and he is expected to make a move to the Premier League this summer.
News from France reveals that Manchester City are on the verge of completing a move for the star player.
French news outlet Le10 Sport says Man City are closing in to securing a €45 million (£39.6m) deal for the Frenchman and that the transfer could be agreed by the end of this week.
Liverpool and Man City are not the only English clubs interested in signing the France international, but premier league champions Chelsea are also reportedly trying to get his signature. However, Pep Guardiola’s side appears to be set to complete their second signing from Monaco after bringing in Bernardo Silva from the French club last month.
The France international was one of Monaco’s outstanding performers in the just concluded season, helping his side beat Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title and getting to the semi-final of the Champions League.
The 22-year-old is now ready to become Pep’s first-choice option at left-back, although the Etihad club have also been linked with Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand for the same role.
Pep Guardiola is keen on bolstering his squad ahead of a busy campaign next season.
