As Jurgen Klopp’s side begin their League Cup campaign, the German manager has made it known that the trio of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Danny Ward and Marko Grujic will all be given a start when they clash with Leicester City on Tuesday.
Ahead of the trip to the King Power Stadium, Klopp has revealed he would make numerous changes in his squad following Liverpool’s unfortunate draw against Burnley during their recent premier league game.
The Merseyside club are already eight points off the Manchester duo of United and City at the top of the table, and after their tie with Burnley on Saturday, the cup is a perfect chance to lift spirits around the club.
Jurgen has made it known already that he is approaching the competition with great seriousness and is ready to put out a formidable starting XI.
He has also confirmed the involvement of three of his players who are yet to have too much playing time this term – Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ward and Grujic.
Former Arsenal man Oxlade-Chamberlain is yet to start a match for his new side since he made the move this summer, and his new manager said he is slowly working on his inclusion.
“We work with Alex and analysts, show him how we want to play… It is really good that he’s here.” Klopp said.
