Atletico Madrid teenager Victor Mollejo has emerged as a target for Liverpool, and the Mirror are reporting now that the English club have made an “important” offer for the 16-year-old.

Mollejo made his senior debut for the Madrid club last week in their friendly game against Leganes and has attracted interest from a handful of top clubs across Europe.

The youngster is understood to be seen as the brightest prospect in the whole of the club’s academy, and the Madrid club face a battle to hold on to one of their brightest young talents.

And due to his impressive performances, the young striker was given his debut last weekend by the club’s manager Diego Simeone during the game against Leganes.

Victor has played for Spain U-16 side and has shown how good a goalscorer he was. He was able to score 30 times for the youth team last year.

And it is understood that Jurgen Klopp’s side are interested in enhancing their academy and challenge other domestic rivals with strong youth sides. So, they have made the decision to bring Mollejo down to England.

Even though Liverpool are still prohibited from signing academy players, they would hope to agree a deal to bring in Victor when the ban is lifted.

Former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is said to be the youngster’s football idol, which prompted him to wear the number 35 shirt while playing against Leganes – the same one Torres wore on his debut for the La Liga club.
