Merseyside giant Liverpool have made an improved bid of £74million including Belgian Divock Origi on loan for Monaco striker Thomas Lemar.

Monaco had turned down Liverpool’s offer on Monday as they push to maximise the forward’s price.

The transfer deal is believed to be an initial payment of £46million with a further £28million next summer.

The French Ligue 1 champions have also tabled a £27million transfer for Lazio striker Keita Balde.

The 22-year-old has been closely monitored by top clubs including West Ham, Juventus, and Inter Milan but is reportedly going to Monte Carlo for a medical examination on Tuesday night and is thought to be a likely replacement for Reds target Lemar.

AS Monaco have already brought in Stevan Jovetic, and the Montenegro forward was seen modelling the No 10 jersey on Monday, the number expected to be worn by Mbappe this season.

Monaco are reluctant to sell the 21-year-old, while the Reds say they are no way selling Brazil international Coutinho this summer transfer window.

There is a big chance that the two transfers affect each other. If the France international does sign, Liverpool supporters can be rest assured that Phillippe Coutinho’s absence won’t be felt seriously when the Barcelona target finally leaves Anfield, which seems to be inevitable in the future.
