According to reports in Spain, Liverpool are interested in a deal for Barcelona midfielder Rafinha as the Catalan club continue to lure Philippe Coutinho.

As per Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is aware that he will struggle to keep the Brazilian at Anfield Stadium, and the versatile midfielder has already told Klopp that he wants a transfer to Camp Nou this summer transfer window.

The report has it that Jurgen Klopp is keen on a deal for Rafinha and has asked The Red’s sporting director Michael Edwards to make sure that the club stays ahead of their Premier League rivals in the race for the 24-year-old midfielder.

It’s a known fact that FC Barcelona had stepped up their pursuit of the Reds talisman, The Red Boss was interested in Rafinha, and the Reds were ready to offer between £27m and £36m according to reports.

Rafinha would be open to a transfer to Anfield as he wants to make Brazil National team’s squad for next year’s FIFA World Cup and competition for places at FC Barcelona means that he is unlikely to get enough playing time to impress the manager.

The Reds want the deals for unsettled Coutinho and second-fiddle Rafinha to be treated separately, but Barcelona could use their interest in Rafinha to lower Coutinho’s asking price.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly demanding £107m for the 25-year-old, which is well above the £71.5m Barcelona have bid so far.

Klopp is also reportedly angry that a meeting took place in the City of London between Barcelona’s three representatives Raül Sanllehi, Robert Fernandez and Andre Cury, and Coutinho’s representatives.
