The summer transfer window is closing next week and all clubs are trying to get things wrapped up so as to concentrate fully on the new campaign.
A handful of superb players have been linked with a move to liverpool, with the latest being Schalke’s Benedikt Howedes.
According to German news outlet DW Sports, the Anfield club are interested in the defender, and a deal might just be struck before the end of the window.
Howedes is understood to have fallen out with his side’s new manager Domenico Tedesco and it is said that he will be sold for a fee worth £20m.
In England, it was reported that Southampton’s Virgil Van Dijk is the only defender Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is interested in signing this summer and that he is ready to stick with his current options if he can’t bring in the Netherlands international.
But it appears the media in Germany thinks otherwise and we look further to what will happen eventually.
As reported, the Reds are the only English club showing an interest in the 29-year-old currently but more teams are likely to come register their interests too as the transfer deadline approaches.
This summer, Klopp has only been able to bring in three new players into his team – Dominic Solanke, Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson.
