Liverpool Can Sign Bundesliga Star For £61m – Report
Premier League table toppers Liverpool will be able to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner for £61m according to reports emanating from the media in Germany.
According to German newspaper Bild, RB Leipzig want to insert a £61m (€70m) release clause in the player’s contract as they try to prevent the player from leaving the club on the cheap.
Germany international attacker Timo Werner has less than 18 months left on his current RB Leipzig contract which runs out at the end of the 2019/20 season.
Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig are desperate to offer the player a new contract with improved wages and the aforementioned release clause.
Liverpool will be one of 10 clubs that will be able to activate the £61m release clause as reported by the aforementioned publication.
English champions Manchester City, German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, Italian Serie A champions Juventus, French Ligue 1 champion Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona and European champions Real Madrid are also some of the major European clubs that will be able to activate the above mentioned release clause.
The other three clubs were not mentioned by Sports Bild.
Timo Werner has been in sensational form for RB Leipzig this season after netting 11 goals in 18 league games.
