Liverpool Beat Premier League Rivals Spurs To Secure 6th Title

Tottenham and Liverpool

Merseyside giants Liverpool have won Europe’s premier club competition for the sixth time after they defeated Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the final.

In what was an all-English affair, the Reds won 2-0 to end Real Madrid’s three-year dominance in the Champions League.

The Spanish giants had won the last three Champions League titles between 2016 and 2018 with the final of those three titles coming against Liverpool last summer.

Welsh international Gareth Bale scored twice after coming off the bench to give Real Madrid a 3-1 win over Liverpool and a third straight Champions League title.

Liverpool were hoping to go one better than the last time against Real Madrid in Kiev and that was what they against Spurs.

The Reds made a dream start inside the first minute after Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko was penalised for handball in the box off a cross from Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane.

The Reds shot into the lead through star forward Mohamed Salah from the penalty conceded by Sissoko.

Liverpool had Alisson Becker to thank in the second half after he made some saves to preserve their early lead before substitute Divock Origi wrapped up the game in added time to give Liverpool their first title in seven years.
