N’Golo Kante won the prestigious premier league player of the Year award last Sunday, beating the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and his own teammate at Chelsea Eden Hazard.
However, Danny Murphy is of the opinion that the Frenchman should not have gone home with the award, but that his teammate Eden Hazard deserves being crowned the player of the year in the premier league.
He insisted that Eden Hazard has been far more important against the top guys in the English top flight this season.
Even though Kante has enjoyed a superb first season at the west London club after winning the title with Leicester City last season, Danny thinks the comeback of his Belgian club-mate has been simply breathtaking to watch.
He buttress his points by expressing that in many of the Chelsea big games against other top teams, Eden is the player who do turn the game for the blues.
In all competitions for the premier league table leaders this season so far, Hazard has scored 15 goals, and he has provided assists seven times as the season approaches it end.
Even in Chelsea’s last game against Tottenham Hotspur at the FA Cup semi final game last Saturday, Hazard scored the crucial goal that saw his side through to the final.
Up next for Chelsea is a premier league game against Southampton at Stamford Bridge.
