Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski has emerged as a target for Liverpool this summer and according to reports, the Anfield club have submitted a £25 Million offer for the player.
A Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino revealed that Liverpool’s boss Jurgen Klopp has made a renewed attempt to sign Zielinski after missing out on the talented player last summer.
It was added that Liverpool are not the only Premier league club interested in the Poland international, butTottenham are also interested in his signature. Additionally, Champions League winners Real Madrid are also said to be after him.
However, it is understood that Napoli’s top chief Aurelio De Laurentiis is adamant that the player will not be sold.
Last year, Jurgen Klopp reportedly met with Piotr to discuss a transfer to Anfield the following summer. However, the midfielder ended up joining Napoli from Udinese in a deal worth around €16m (£12m). And right now, he currently has a €70m (£61.2m) release clause in his current contract at the Serie A club.
Zielinski, speaking about the Reds interest at the start of last season, told Poland’s Przeglad Sportowy:
‘Liverpool finally got a plane and I met with Jurgen Klopp. He said he wanted me in his team. I saw a different world and after returning my head was even a bigger mess.’
