Riyad Mahrez has been heavily linked with a move away from Leicester City in recent times after emerging as a target for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp is looking to replace Philippe Coutinho with another superb player, and Riyad would be a fine signing.
A few days back, there were speculations that the Anfield club are close to getting the player’s signature.
It was even said that Arsenal are ready to fight for his signature too, as manager Arsene Wenger wants him to replace bound-to-depart Alexis Sanchez.
Recently, it was reported by lebuteur that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the Algerian international and is determined to sign the £40M-rated player.
This season so far in 22 top flight games for the foxes, Mahrez has scored seven times and has provided eight assists to his teammates.
However, it was added that Riyad’s agent has not met with Liverpool’s officials, but the club want to find a preliminary agreement with Leicester City first before agreeing to terms of contract with the player’s party.
Leicester City are currently sitting on the eight spot of the premier league table and are aiming at securing a spot in next season’s Europa League.
We look on if they will allow one of their top players leave this month.
But, do you think Riyad is good enough to replace Coutinho at Liverpool?
