Former Borussia Dortmund and Mainz 05 boss Jurgen Klopp would be hoping his side could take the three points at stake to stay in contention for the league title.

In the possible absence of Can, Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is likely to join skipper Jordan Henderson and England international Adam Lallana in midfield while Estonia captain Ragnar Klavan should deputise for Lovren in the centre of defence in the event that he miss out on the game.

Possible Starting XI for Liverpool: Loris Karius; James Milner, Ragnar Klavan, Joel Matip, Nathaniel Clyne; Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson: Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Divock Origi
