World champions France could take a step closer to qualification for the last four when they host Germany at the Stade de France in their UEFA Nations League clash in League A1.
A win for the French team would extend their lead at the top of the group to four points and push the Germans to the brink of relegation from League A.
On the other hand, a win for the immediate past World champions would bring them back into contention for the final four in League A.
Ahead of the game, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) forward Kylian Mbappe is expected to return to the world champions’ starting lineup after he came off the bench to score the equaliser in a 2-2 draw at home to Iceland in an international friendly last week.
The big news for the Germans is that centre-back Jerome Boateng will miss the game with a calf problem and his place will be taken by Bayern Munich teammate Nicklas Sule as the immediate past world champions try to recover from the humiliating 3 – 0 loss to the Netherlands in their UEFA Nations League clash on Saturday night.
France probable starting lineup: Hugo Lloris; Benjamin Pavard, Raphael Varane, Presnel Kimpembe, Lucas Hernandez; N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba; Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele; Olivier Giroud
Germany probable starting lineup: Manuel Neuer; Joshua Kimmich, Nicklas Sule, Mats Hummels, Jonas Hector; Emre Can, Sebastian Rudy, Toni Kroos; Julian Brandt, Timo Werner, Julian Draxler.
