The Premier League club’s asking price for holding midfielder Nemanja Matic appears to be too steep for the Bianconeri.
Juventus‘ hopes of securing the signing of Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic are fading, with the Bianconeri unable to match the asking price for the midfielder.
The Serbia international has been targeted by the Bianconeri, who are looking to strengthen their midfield options as they aim for a sixth consecutive Scudetto.
However, Massimiliano Allegri’s ambitions of securing the former Benfica ace have been dampened by Chelsea’s demands, with the Premier League outfit slapping a €30 million price tag on their star asset, according to reports.
With incoming Chelsea coach Antonio Conte yet to decide whether he wants to keep Matic in West London, Juventus may still have a chance of securing their man.
The Bianconeri had hoped to negotiate a deal closer to €20 million for the 27-year-old, who is contracted to Chelsea until 2020.
It is believed that once Conte has come to a decision, Juventus will look to resume talks and attempt to bring the price down.
Matic has made 86 appearances since returning to Chelsea in 2014, having initially departed the club for Portuguese champions Benfica in 2011.
The Sabac-born midfielder has 28 caps for the Serbian national team and scored one goal.
