Jurgen Klopp top-five signing in 3 years, number one will shock you

Jurgen Klopp

This week marks the third anniversary since Jurgen Klopp became Liverpool coach.

Although the Reds are yet to win a trophy as proof of their progress so far, they have however improved under the leadership of Jurgen Klopp.

Coach Jurgen Klopp during his arrival at Anfield made some signings that have strengthened the Reds weak areas and made them become one of the strongest football clubs in Europe.

Below are Jurgen Klopp top five signings according to their ranking:

5. Sadio Mane: the Senegal international joined Liverpool from Southampton at a paltry sum of £30 million.

The Senegalese player on his arrival at Anfield form a great combination with Roberto Firmino, his first goal against Arsenal showed he was worth the pay.

4. Alisson Becker: the goalkeeper joined Liverpool from AS Roma at the sum of £66 million to correct the anomaly created by Loris Karius.

Klopp signing Becker proved that the German is serious with his project at Liverpool and so far the Brazil goalkeeper has been highly instrumental.

3. Mohammed Salah: the Egyptian joined Liverpool from AS Roma for the sum of £35 million (an amount Roma would later regret and wished they had charged higher.)

Salah in his first season broke almost all record in the EPL e.g being the highest goal scorer, he made it to the

30-man Ballon d’Or shortlist and made a lot of impressions which far outweigh his price tag.

2. Virgil van Dijk: the biggest weakness in the Reds squad prior to the arrival of Van Dijk was the defense.

Klopp was unable to sign the Netherlands international until January 2018 from Southampton at the sum of £75 million, which is a huge sum to pay for a defender.

However, since his arrival at Anfield, Virgil van Dijk has stamped his authority as a world class defender.

1. Andrew Robertson: this is quite surprising because many would be expecting to find Mo Salah or Virgil van Dijk here, well the left back made it here because of his fee and his performance.

Liverpool signed Robertson with a little sum of £8 million from Hull City in 2017.

Robbo arrived Anfield without much noise like the others, however, he turned out to be Klopp perfect solution to the left back which has been a weak area in the Reds squad.
