Liverpool tactician Jurgen Klopp has slammed his player’s defending after two cheap second-half goals saw the Reds, who were finalists in 2016 bundled out of the Carabao Cup by former Premier League Champions Leicester City Tuesday night.
The Reds – who paraded a side showing eight changes from the one all draw with Fc Burnley – conceded two goals in the second half away at Leicester to go out of the Carabao Cup in the third round.
Jurgen Klopp’s team defend a return ball into the box after they had initially cleared a corner kick, allowing Leicester star Shinji Okazaki to send a low shot beyond Danny Ward.
Leicester City nailed the scoreline with just 12 minutes left, working the ball on the pitch from a throw-in before Algeria international forward Islam Slimani scored with a left-footed effort.
An angry Klopp told Sky Sports after the match that his team played good football in the first 45 minutes, and should have decided the match early.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss went on to state that he still thinks the Merseyside giants are a good team despite their winless run.
Jurgen Klopp will hope for an improved fortune when his team return to the same venue – King Power Stadium for a Premier League clash on Saturday.
