According to reports in Italy, Arsenal are planning a late move for Juventus star Juan Cuadrado.
Arsenal have been constantly linked with the Chelsea flop this summer, and transfermarketweb.com in Italy are the latest publication to try and keep the speculation going, claiming the Gunners are preparing a “last-minute bid” to sign him.
A transfer away from Juventus for Cuadrado doesn’t seem to make sense. The player only joined the Serie A champions permanently earlier this summer, after a clause in his loan deal with his former London club was triggered.
The Turin giant paid £18 million to seal the transfer deal, and would probably want almost the same fee from Arsenal. At the age of 29, it’d be shocking if the Gunners were ready to pay so much for a player who scored three goals and assisted 10 in 45 matches in Italy and Europe in the last campaign.
Arsene Wenger seem to have decided to keep Alexis Sanchez for another season, and have Mesut Özil, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott all fighting for a place in the wing-forward positions.
The more pressing issue would be in the centre-back position, where Sead Kolašinac and Nacho Monreal had to fill in against Leicester City, with Gabriel heading out of the Emirate club.
