Former Liverpool Man Reacts To Chelsea’s 2-1 Victory over West Ham On Twitter
Jamie Carragher was quite impressed with Chelsea’s counter-attacking performance in their win at West Ham United
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has hailed Chelsea’s counter-attacking play after the blues were comfortable 2-1 victors against West Ham United on Monday night.
The Stamford Bridge club made the short trip across the English capital with the view to restore their 10-point lead at the top of the table after their closest rivals Tottenham Hotspur narrowed their lead thanks to a 3-2 victory against Everton at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
The west London club made the perfect start as Pedro Rodriguez and Eden Hazard combined on the break before Hazard slotted a finish past the Hammers goalkeeper to put the premier league leaders in charge.
The Stamford Bridge outfit doubled their lead in the second half thanks to another goal from Spanish star striker Diego Costa. Costa’s goal against West Ham represents his 17th Premier League goal of the 2016-17 season. And afterwards, Antonio Conte’s men continued to cause their opponents problems on the break.
And former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was quite impressed with Chelsea’s ability to hit West Ham United on the counter-attack after their 2-1 victory against Slaven Bilic’s side. He typed simply on Twitter:
“Chelsea devastating on the counter attack”
Chelsea finished in tenth position last season in the Premier League table and without a trophy too. But as things stands now under new manager Antonio Conte, they are the heavy favourites to win the title this season.
