Ex Liverpool Defender: What Is Different About This Chelsea Star And Most Premier League Players
Jamie Carragher hails Eden Hazard as a truly world-class player Former Liverpool defender
Jamie Carragher is of the opinion that premier league table leaders Chelsea possess one of the few Premier League players capable of getting into the first-team of top clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid, in the person of Eden Hazard.
Hazard won the PFA Premier League player of the year award after the Belgium international scored 14 goals in 38 games to fire the Stamford Bridge outfit to title glory in 2014-15 when Jose Mourinho was still boss.
However, last season, just like the rest of his teammates at Chelsea, Hazard struggled badly and could not score a Premier League goal until April.
Nevertheless, the Belgian has rediscovered his best and this season so far has scored 11 goals in 26 games.
The 26-year-old scored the opener in Chelsea’s 2-1 win at West Ham in the Premier League on Monday night as Antonio Conte side took a big step towards a second title in three seasons.
And Carragher speaking to Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football show about Hazard’s ability, said:
“We talk about how many world-class players we have in the Premier League.
“We look at Aguero and think he could go to Barcelona and Real Madrid. Hazard is another one. He wouldn’t look out of place.
“He is one of the few Premier League players who could go there and make a difference.”
Chelsea are now ten points clear at the top of the league table and remains firm favourites to win the Epl title come May as Antonio Conte appears on course to be on the way of winning the title crown in his first season at the Stamford Bridge club.
