Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has stepped up his bid to sign England midfielder Jack Wilshere, after it emerged the midfield maestro is ready to leave Arsenal.
The midfielder was left out of the team which defeated Leicester City and is also being chased by Premier League clubs like West Ham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger stated that the 25-year-old midfielder is not fully fit after fracturing his leg back in April. But Jack Wilshere reportedly told friends and colleagues he is set and available to be selected.
A source close to Jack told SunSport: “Jack is fit. He (Wilshere) is raring to go but has not been included in the playing squad.
“Wenger told the public that he (Wilshere) isn’t ready, but Jack (Wilshere) is feeling in top condition.”
The former Real Madrid manager is fuming with Newcastle’s lack of transfer business this summer and has told the club to do everything possible to get the midfielder.
Jack Wilshere’s preference is to remain at the North London club, and he has dropped to the Under-23 team in a bid to prove himself.
But the England man is coming round to the reality that his future lies somewhere else.
West Ham, Crystal Palace, and Bournemouth are also interested, along with AS Roma, Juventus, and Lazio.
Wilshere’s current contract expires at the end of the season, meaning he could be available for a reduced bargain.
