English Premier League (EPL) giants Manchester United have received a major boost ahead of their EFL Cup clash with London side West Ham United with the news that Ivorian defender Eric Bailly will make his return from injury in December.
Bailly, who sealed a £30.4m transfer from Spanish side Villareal in the summer, was initially ruled out until the New Year but the 22-year old is miles ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation from the injury after he returned to training to provide a timely boost for struggling Manchester United and manager Jose Mourinho though he is expected to sit out the club’s next three games against West Ham United in the EFL Cup, the EPL clash with Everton and the UEFA Europa League (UEL) clash versus Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk with the home league clash against North London side Tottenham Hotspur a week on Sunday or the away league match at out-of-form Crystal Palace the following Wednesday a realistic target for his injury comeback depending on how he responds to training.
The former Espanyol centre back’s return is likely to strengthen the Old Trafford club as they battle to claw their way back to title and UEFA Champions League (UCL) qualification reckoning.
The Red Devils are presently 11 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea and eight points off fourth place, presently occupied by London rivals Arsenal.
