The 34-year-old announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain at the conclusion of the 2015/16 season, having won Ligue 1 four times on the spin and ending with 38 league goals in his final campaign.
Ibrahimovic becomes Jose Mourinho’s second signing as United manager after Eric Bailly, and is expected to be taking home a weekly wage of around £250,000.
The 6ft 3in striker has been linked moves to the Premier League, China and the MLS and he has now confirmed his destination.
He even flirted continuously with a return to Italy , but in the end a re-unification with former boss Jose Mourinho proved to be too good a proposition to turn down.
