Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has debunked widespread reportedly that he lost the Blues dressing room during the recent slump in form recorded by the club especially in the Premier League.
Sarri dismissed those rumours during his pre-match thoughts ahead of the Blues’ first leg Europa League last 16 ties with Dynamo Kyiv.
Ahead of the first leg last 16 games with the Ukrainians, the Italian tactician told reporters that he has always had the control of the dressing room.
His influence on the team was questioned earlier this year after the Blues started 2019 with three successive defeats away from home in the Premier League without scoring a goal.
The Blues scored zero goal and conceded 12 goals in those games.
Maurizio Sarri was under a lot of pressure after those games but he has been able to revitalise the Blues’ fortunes in recent games starting from the Carabao Cup final penalty loss to Manchester City.
Many fans and pundits applauded him for the way he handled the misdemeanour from Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga who refused to be substituted during the aforementioned Manchester City game.
Sarri dropped Kepa in the next game, a 2-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur in their London Derby clash.
The former Napoli boss restored Kepa into the starting XI for the last league game, a 2-1 away win over Fulham in their London Derby clash.
