It has been revealed that former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had a different choice as who to succeed him at the Emirates Stadium and it was never Spanish boss Unai Emery.
Arsene Wenger was forced to quit the club at the end of last season after spending 22-years in charge. He is no doubt the club’s most successful manager but his last years were not as pleasing as they should be.
The French boss could no longer motivate the players and winning trophies became more difficult than they should be while the club missed out of two Champions League years under his watch.
As it was time for him to leave, Italian transfer expert reveals that the French man had suggested Carlo Ancelotti to the club as his replacement but that was turned down by the Arsenal chiefs.
It was claimed that Carlo Ancelotti was also very interested in the job because of his wish to be with his family, knowing that they stay in London.
However, the North London outfit settled for Unai Emery who had two successful years at the French Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint Germain and has got experience in winning trophies as well.
Unai Emery has since returned the club back to winning ways as well as handing hope of a Champions League football next season with a top-four finish.
