Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has made known how happy he was when Alexis Sanchez scored his first goal in Manchester United shirt at Old Trafford on Saturday against Huddersfield.
Sanchez joined the red devils last month in a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move to Arsenal, and he is settling quickly to life at his new side.
He made his debut for Manchester United when they thrashed Yeovil Town 4-0 in the FA Cup, and although he earned the Man of the match honour, it was goals from the likes of Marcus Rashford, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku that progressed the red devils to the fifth round of the competition.
He also played his first premier league game in a Manchester United shirt last Wednesday against Tottenham Hotspur but couldn’t help his side from losing 2-0 at Wembley.
The Chilean international was however impressive against Huddersfield on Saturday, and he was able to score his first goal for the red devils at Old Trafford.
Speaking after the 2-0 win, a delightful Mourinho said it was nice for the 29-year-old to contribute to the victory in his first game at Old Trafford.
According to the former Chelsea boss, although Sanchez’s goal was not ‘the goal of his dreams’, what’s most important is that he still scored a goal.
