Manchester United legend, Paul Merson has claimed that manager Jose Mourinho is indirectly pushing Alis Sanchez out of the Old Trafford.
Merson argues that Sanchez cannot fit into the playing system that has been adopted by the Portuguese manager.
He has therefore asked the former Arsenal player to find his way out to salvage his career.
The United legend said Sanchez looks lost for going six months without a goal to his name, knowing how good the player is.
According to him, the former Barcelona player does not make as many chances in United as he used to when he was at Arsenal.
He noted that the United style is to defend first so as not to be beaten before thinking of attacking which makes it difficult for the Chile striker.
Merson argued that the same scenario played out with Eden Hazard when Mourinho was with his former side, Chelsea.
He said such a style will be pleasing to a player who has all attacking qualities.
Meanwhile, United struggled for a win in their weekend’s game against Wolves, sharing a point with the visitors.
French midfielder, Paul Pogba had also blamed the patter of play which does not allow for free attacking roles as the reason for the 1-1 draw.
