Inter Milan chief Beppe Marotta has slammed an official from Juventus over his admission that they have registered an interest in unsettled striker Mauro Icardi.

Beppe Marotta was the chief executive officer (CEO) at Italian Serie A giants Juventus before he left to assume the same role at Inter Milan.

According to the publication from ESPN, the Inter chief blasted Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici after he openly talked about their interest in Argentine international Icardi.

Paratici had listed several Juventus’ transfer targets which include the aforementioned Icardi during a recent interview with Radio Rai.

Other targets mentioned by the Juventus official include Sandro Tonali (Brescia), Federico Chiesa (Fiorentina), Nicolo Zaniolo (AS Roma) and Nicolo Barella (Cagliari).

Mauro Icardi has been linked with major European sides like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea.

Those transfer rumours have intensified in the past few days after the Inter Milan striker was dropped as the Nerazzurri captain on Wednesday.

He has since been replaced by goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.

In addition, Mauro Icardi is in a contract standoff with the club though Inter Milan officials have maintained that the captaincy decision is in isolation.

Inter Milan is rated at €100m for potential suitors like Chelsea and others.
