Manchester United fans will be delighted to have avoided a strong team in the UEFA League, but Rostov who United were drawn with is a bad market in itself and could be much worst than facing the likes of Lyon and AS Roma, they have beaten Bayern Munich 3-2 in the Champions League clash and have only conceded once at home in 35 games.

United avoided two of its hardest opponents, however the Red have also seen them drawn against each other.

FC Rostov are based in Rostov oblast(region in English). The club was established on 1930, and was initially named Selmashstroy. They were renamed Selmash in 1936 and Traktor in 1941. Their ground is called Olimp-2 with a capacity of 15,840.

Rostov are currently seventh in the Premier League, with 15 points behind Spartak Moscow, they dropped into the Europa League after finishing third in the Champions League stage.

Mouriho’s men will be expected to travel 5,000 miles round a trip to Rostov for the first leg on march 9 and will be facing Chelsea in the FA Cup 4 days later, Mourinho said “It is a bad draw in every aspect.

“It is far and it is difficult, and comes in a bad period for us.
“They are a very difficult team. They had a very good Champions League campaign and also beat Ajax and Anderlecht in the playoffs.

“They then had a very difficult group with Bayern and Atletico and but beat Bayern at home. They got third place and knocked out PSV Eindhoven, so they are a strong team.

“I know their manager [Kurban Berdyev] having faced him when I was at Inter Milan and he with Rubin Kazan, so I know they will be very defensive and a very physical team.

“It’s a bad draw, but after Southampton and Bournemouth [in the Premier League], we will focus on it and go for it.”
