Guardiola will get a war if he wants one – Yaya Toure’s Agent

Dimitri Seluk, the ever outspoken agent of Ivory Coast international, Yaya Toure, has warned Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola that “he will get a war if he wants one.”

Seluk had earlier said that Guardiola should apologize to Yaya if Manchester City fails to win the UEFA Champions League this season and accused the spaniard of treating Yaya with disrespect by omitting his name from his UCL group stage squad list.

Pep Guardiola got the Russian firing verbally at him when he deliberately omitted the 33-year old midfielder from his champions league squad and also said that Yaya may likely not feature for the citizens unless Seluk tenders an apology to him.

In response to Pep, Seluk fired again, in an exclusive interview with Mirror Sport, saying that “Guardiola will get a war if he wants one.” He went ahead to list Yaya Toure’s achievements with the Manchester based club.

“Yaya is a player who has made history for Manchester City.

“He has won the Premier League twice, he has won the FA Cup, he has won the League Cup twice and he helped them reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time.”

Seluk went ahead to say that Pep only wants players who are scared of him, pointing to the way he quickly ostracized Yaya and (Joe) Hart from the squad he inherited and also the way he handled Samuel Eto’o and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Barcelona.

The Spain-based Russian also tried to rule out any possible chances for an apology to Guardiola, and noted that the title of one of the greatest managers ascribed to Pep is hugely undeserved.

He said, “”Will I apologise? Well, I have learned that you must never say never.

“But will Pep apologise to Yaya? Will he apologise to Joe Hart or Manuel Pellegrini?

“Look what Guardiola did to Pellegrini. He took his job when he was still fighting for titles.

“Pep was successful at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, but take a look behind that success.

“The team he took at Barca had been built by Frank Rijkaard and then he was lucky to have Lionel Messi. It was Messi who made Barca, not Pep.

“Luis Enrique has shown that Barca’s success was not down to Guardiola.

“It was the same in Munich. Bayern won the Treble before Guardiola took over. They already had a great team on the pitch and a great organisation off the pitch.

“He couldn’t fail. My grandfather could have won the league with that team.

“Carlo Ancelotti will keep Bayern at the top – but the difference is that i also think he will win the Champions League there.

“When Guardiola left Bayern there were a lot of happy people there once he had gone. He wasn’t popular.

“If Pep wants to prove himself as a great manager, then he should go to Zaragoza or Sunderland.

“Let’s see how good he is when he doesn’t take over a great team and hasn’t got half-a-billion pounds to spend.

“Could he do what Claudio Ranieri has done at Leicester or Mauricio Pochettino has done at Tottenham?

“Well we will never know because if City don’t win the league and the Champions League this season they will just give him another £100million or £200million to spend until he gets it right. That isn’t good management.”

Finally, Seluk said that Yaya Toure will remain professional under Pep Guardiola and will leave the club at the end of his contract in the summer “with pride” before opening Pep’s can of worms which he’s sure will not please Manchester City fans.
Yaya Toure joined Manchester City in 2010 after Guardiola sold him just after taking of the reins at the Catalans. He almost moved away from Etihad but finally opted to see out his remaining contract and leave on a free. He earns £225,000 weekly at Manchester City and had called time on his international career today.
