Good News – Arsenal Close To Reaching Deal With Star Midfielder

Reports claim that Arsenal is close to reaching a deal with Mesut Ozil as they look to keep the star midfielder for a long time at the Emirates.

The Mirror reports that during the international break there have been further negotiations between Arsenal and the German world cup winner’s representatives and the North London club are confident that a deal can be done that will see him extend his stay with the gunners.

In recent weeks there have been talks between both parties on extending the midfielder’s deal and it seemed no agreement was going to be reached soon.

Ozil who is currently earning 140,000 pounds a week is looking for a huge pay rise but Arsenal have been finding it hard to meet his demands. It is understood that Ozil is hoping to get a new deal that will see him earn 200,000 pounds a week with arsenal looking to add 20,000 pounds to his current deal that will leave him earning 160,000 pounds a week.

Now with the latest round of negotiations it is believed Ozil is close to getting his huge pay rise as Arsenal seems prepared to make him their highest paid player.

With 18 months left on his contract there had been concerns that the German could leave the club next summer if no agreement is reached with the club.

Ozil has stated he is happy at Arsenal and has even bought a house in London for 10 million pounds but with reports claiming that Manchester United are monitoring the situation and willing to offer the midfielder about 250,000 pounds if he moves to Old Trafford there were concerns he could leave the Emirates.

With this latest development it seems Ozil will be an Arsenal player for some time.
