Chelsea are no longer interested in keeping some fringe players in the team as they have reportedly told them to find a new club in January.
Victor Moses, Gary Cahill, and Danny Drinkwater are obviously not needed by Maurizio Sarri and they could be heading towards Stamford Bridge’s exit door.
Gary Cahill was tracked by Turkish sides Galatasaray and Besiktas during the previous summer window, that’s according to the Mirror.
Though the two Turkish sides are very much keen on his signature, Arsenal are believed to be leading the race for the England international.
The Gunners have no option but enter into the market in search of a short-term replacement for Rob Holding who won’t be part of the team for the rest of the campaign due to injury.
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has reportedly contacted the Blues to know if he stands a chance of luring the 32-year-old to the Emirates stadium in January.
Interestingly, the Blues are willing to let go of Cahill in January but some reports suggest the Blues are only keen on loaning him out in January.
If reports making headlines are something to trust, then Emery could welcome an experienced defender into his team in January.
Irrespective of his age nor his current role at Stamford Bridge, Cahill is definitely one of the best defenders in the League.
His wealth of experience is surely going to be an added advantage to the Gunners in their desire to finish the season among the top-four clubs.
Cahill’s move to Arsenal, if successful, will equally add more depth to the North London club. Emery will have more players to choose from, so, there won’t be any form of fatigue during the busy festive period.
However, it remains unknown if the Blues would sanction the player’s proposed switch to the Emirates stadium, considering the rivalry existing between both clubs.
Many Arsenal and Chelsea fans were shocked by Arsene Wenger when he sanctioned Olivier Giroud’s move to Chelsea in his last season at the North London club.
Is Chelsea ready to return the favour by letting Cahill move to the opposite side in the upcoming winter market? Only time will tell.
As for Victor Moses, the 27-year-old winger is linked with some Premier League clubs after Sarri revealed he’s surplus to requirements.
Moses is reportedly set to spark transfer war between Crystal Palace and Fulham. Both clubs are willing to take advantage of his unwanted situation at Stamford Bridge by luring him to their respective clubs.
