Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has told his close pals that he wants to join Manchester United this summer, according to reports.
The 27-year-old has been a key figure at the Santiago Bernabeu since his arrival in 2013 from Tottenham Hotspur, snubbing transfer interest from Manchester United to move to the Spanish capital. The Red Devils have since then been credited with an interest in the Welsh star throughout his career with Real, where he has helped them in several trophies.
Recent reports now have it that United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on adding Bale to his attack next season as he prepares to better their previous performances in the Premier League next term.
Reports in Spain also suggests that officials at Real Madrid are open to the idea of Bale leaving the club due to his incessant injuries that has kept him out of some of their crucial games since his arrival, although it is understood that club president, Florentino Perez is keen to see Gareth Bale remain at the Santiago Bernabeu but United believe they can tempt Real with a good offer.
Reports in the Independent now have it that Gareth Bale has told his friends in Madrid that he wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, giving Manchester United a major boost in their pursuit of the player.
