Manchester United have received a major blow to their transfer pursuit of Gareth Bale, following reports that the Real Madrid wants to remain at the Bernabeu.
The Welsh star has been tipped to make a move to the Old Trafford this summer with reports that the hierarchy at the Santiago Bernabeu are open to the idea of selling the winger after getting frustrated at his incessant injuries that has kept him out of the side’s crucial encounters in the past few years.
Jose Mourinho is believed to be after one big name signing this window, after hinting at the possibility of getting a ‘surprise name’ on his shopping list at the end of last season.
Prior reports claim that United were ready to make an approach for Bale and Real over the possibility of signing Bale this summer but the talks have been stalled due to the Spanish giants’ interest in David De Gea.
Reports in Sky Sports have now suggested that Gareth Bale does not want to join Manchester United this summer and will remain at the Bernabeu despite keen interest from the Red Devils.
It is understood that Real Madrid is ready to sell one of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema or Cristiano Ronaldo in order to create space for the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco although they will still have to beat competition from the likes of Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain.
