Juventus star player Gonzalo Higuain has now emerged as a target for Chelsea this summer and might make a shocking switch to the English premier league any time soon.
According to new reports coming from Italy, the premier league champions have submitted a €100 million (£88m) offer to Juventus for the experienced striker.
Antonio Conte is desperately trying to sign a new striker after asking Diego Costa to leave this summer and losing a long-term target in the person of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
Italian news outlet Tuttosport says that the Italian manager is not pleased with the blues management over their failure to get Lukaku ahead of Man United who completed a £75m deal for the now former Everton striker on Monday.
And in a bid to appease him, the club have reportedly approached Juve ten days ago with their proposal to sign the Argentina international.
However, it was added that Higuain’s club rejected the bid and remain adamant that their prize asset won’t be sold yet, despite that he is approaching the final phrase of his career.
The Argentine striker is the fourth most-expensive signing of all time after the Turin club paid €90m (£75.3m) to land him from Napoli last year.
The 28-year-old was impressive in his first season at Juventus and was able to score 32 times in 55 games. He helped the club win both the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia and helped them reach the Champions League final.
