How France plan to outsmart Morocco for Guendouzi

Arsenal youngster, Matteo Guendouzi is being contended for by France and Morocco for national allegiance due to his outstanding performance since joining Arsenal in the summer.

The 19-year-old Arsenal as a future plan for the club but his performance made him go straight into the starting eleven of the Unai Emery team, starting the first four games of the season.

This has caught the attention of both France and the African country knowing that the youngster is qualified to play for any of them.

With the player already hinting on representing France in the future, national team coach Didier Deschamps is reported to be acting fast by handing the Arsenal player his first call-up to the senior squad.

The World Cup champions will battle Iceland and Germany later in the international break this month without Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso as a result of injury and Adrien Rabiot who remains persona non grata.

It is an opportunity for the French boss to hand Guendouzi his debut so as to see off competition from Morocco who are also making efforts to have the player wear the country’s colours.

The former Lorient player’s father is a Moroccan and the African making him eligible to play for the African country.
