Manchester United are occasionally in the news if it’s about next month’s transfer window- as there are lots of players linked with a move to the club. One of them is Edinson Cavani. But unfortunately for the red devils, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently revealed that the striker will commit his future to the Ligue 1 side.
Cavani current contract with PSG will expire in 2018 and speculations have been around that the 29-year old striker is moving to Old Trafford. But Al-khelaifi, PSG president, has cleared the air about the issue.
Speaking about Cavani to Le Parisien, he said
“He is one of the strongest attackers in the world and we have no intention of letting him go.
“We want to keep all our top stars and we are working towards to extending our relationship.”
The Uruguayan international keeps displaying his fine form for the French club. This season so far, in 23 appearances in all competitions, he has scored 24 times. In fact, PSG relied more on his abilities than Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s.
He keeps flourishing in his favoured position as the main point of the attack. Surely, PSG’s €64 million investment back then in 2013 is now yielding good dividends because if he isn’t hot right now, PSG would be in a very bad position.
Additionally, as a proof that the PSG president is serious about his words, it was announced on Thursday that Brazilian defender Thiago Silva has also committed his future to the club until 2021.
