Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp has finally opened up on why Brazil international and former Monaco star, Fabinho is yet to start for the Reds.
Jurgen Klopp signed Fabinho in the summer transfer window for £43 million alongside Naby Keita, Alisson Becker, and Xherdan Shaqiri.
While Becker and Keita have featured for the Reds, Fabinho is yet to start in any Premier League game for Liverpool.
At first, when the Reds fans had quizzed the Liverpool coach about this, Klopp disclosed that the Brazilian was still adapting to Liverpool style of play.
However, the German international in a recent post has finally revealed why he is actually yet to start Fabinho, he hinted that Liverpool have players that are far better than the Brazil international.
He said Fabinho is close but still needs to get used to different things at Liverpool.
Klopp disclosed he had a similar situation with Gundogan, who didn’t play for half a year.
He said people asked ‘why doesn’t he play? There’s one reason, no other. Another player fits better in the slot.’
The Germany international disclosed that as long as ‘there’s a player ahead who is fresh then it’s about the new player to close the gap.’
