Fans Reacts To Reports Of Hassenhuttl As ‘Potential’ Wenger Successor

Fans of North London side Arsenal have reacted shockingly to widespread reports linking current RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hassenhuttl as the long term successor to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.

Wenger has been in charge at the 13-time English champions for 20 years since he was first appointed as the Arsenal boss in 1996. Since his appointment the 67-year old has won three English Premier League titles and six English FA Cup titles however with his current contract due to expire at the end of this season his future at the club has been up for discussion for the past few weeks.

According to The Sun, Ralph Hassenhuttl hinted during his latest pre-match press conference ahead of his side’s clash with in-form Schalke 04 in what is a German Bundesliga match slated for Saturday that he has been contacted by the Arsenal hierarchy as a potential replacement for Arsene Wenger.

When asked about the matter, Hassenhuttl didn’t speak directly as he said: “I have heard of worse fates than succeeding the longest-serving manager in England.”

Gunners fans thereafter took to social media (Twitter) to voice their shock at the choice of the RB Leipzig boss as a possible successor to Wenger as Arsenal manager.
