Manchester United assistant manager Michael Carrick has blamed Cesc Fabregas for stopping his dream move to Arsenal at a much younger age.
Carrick, who later turned out to be United’s legend started his career as a wizkid at the West Hap academy where he had led his team to the FA Youth Cup title in 1998-99.
His abilities attracted attention from big clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United who all came seeking for his signature some years later.
But for the mark Arsene Wenger was already making at Arsenal, the then young lad wanted to work under the French manager and he made the move by visiting the former Gunners manager.
According to him, a dream deal was almost in place for him with Arsenal but it never happened when the Gunners had faced Manchester United in the Champions Shield and the performance by Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas ensured he never played for the North London side.
He was only later informed by David Geiss, his agent that the deal had been called off because the club decided to settle for Fabregas and have him as a major part of the first team.
Carrick later ended up at United when he was told by his agent of the call from Dein to play for the club.
These five matches will determine if Chelsea season will be a success
