Liverpool could benefit from Merseyside rivals Everton as they continue to pursue a possible move for wantaway Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The Sun claim that the French capital club have already accepted that Adrien Rabiot won’t extend his PSG contract and they are on the search for his replacement.
One of the possible replacements for Rabiot is an Everton player.
It was further revealed that PSG have made a shortlist of four players in their bid to replace the 23-year-old.
The list of midfielders include Idrissa ‘Gana’ Gueye of Everton and the trio of Frenkie De Jong (Ajax Amsterdam), Mario Lemina (Southampton) and Abdoulaye Doucoure (Watford).
Idrissa Gueye has been in impressive form for the Toffees this season and has formed a potent centre midfield partnership with Portuguese international star Andre Gomes.
His form has propelled Everton to the top eight on the Premier League table.
The Senegalese midfielder could be a replacement for Liverpool-linked Adrien Rabiot.
The ex-Manchester City Academy player has already told PSG that he won’t be signing a new contract at the club and that he wants to secure a free transfer move next summer when his contract expires.
He has been linked with clubs like Liverpool, Barcelona and Chelsea.
