Jose Mourinho and Manchester United deserves accolades for being able to do well in the busy period without their star central defender Eric Bailly.
Last summer, the Ivorian international signed for Manchester United in a deal worth £75,000-a-week (I.e $95,000-a-week). This season Bailly featured in 17 games for the Old Trafford club before leaving to represent his country at the African Cup of Nations earlier this month.
Everyone thought they are going to go far in the competition but unfortunately this time around, Ivory Coast were eliminated even right from the group stages of the tournament.
Therefore, the former Villarreal star will be returning to join the Manchester United squad sooner rather than later.
Man United boss Jose Mourinho confirmed that the 22-year-old versatile defender should be returning this week but he will not be playing tonight in the EFL Cup against Hull City.
“He is not ready for tomorrow obviously but he’s coming back. No problems.” Jose said.
Manchester United defeated Hull City 2-0 in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi final at Old Trafford and are favorites to join Southampton in the final. The Saints eliminated Liverpool last night.
Even though United have failed to win their last two fixtures, they will be hoping to get back to winning ways tonight.
