Sadio Mane’s victim, Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson did not let the injury he suffered on his face following his clash with the Liverpool winger stop him from enjoying a night out with his immediate family in the City of Manchester on Saturday evening.
The Brazil international left the field on a stretcher putting on a neck brace and wearing an oxygen mask following the collision, which saw Mane red carded for dangerous foul play, but it was later revealed the goalkeeper suffered no broken bones in the collision.
However, the goaltender was still spotted with the large white bandage covering several stitches for a cut on his left cheek-face, while enjoining a night out with his immediate family in the City on Saturday.
Ederson, signed from Portuguese side Benfica in the summer transfer window, was spotted returning to his hotel at about midnight, stopping to discuss with supporters after enjoying a night out with his family.
The goalkeeper was attended to by the City’s medical team during the encounter after receiving treatment for eight minutes on the pitch but was fine enough to return to the bench by the end of City’s eventual 5-0 win.
The Liverpool man was sent off after raising high his feet to try and reach a through pass, catching City goalkeeper Ederson in the face, during a clash which split fans and analysts alike who debated if the Senegalese deserved a straight red card.
Mane made a public apology to the injured goalkeeper on social media late on Saturday while both head coaches, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, said there was not malicious intent in the challenge.
