According to reports, Liverpool have agreed to sign midfielder Naby Keita, but the African won’t leave Bundesliga side RB Leipzig until end of next season.

The Guinea international midfielder had medical on Monday after a transfer fee was agreed with the German Bundesliga team and the midfielder will join Liverpool at the end of the 2017/18 League season.

RB Leipzig refused to cash in on the African throughout the summer transfer window, with the Reds putting in a £70m offer at a point.

However, with Keita having a buy out clause that can be activated next year for just £48million, they’ve sealed a deal now, as per Liverpool Echo.

It’s believed that the Reds will pay more than that transfer fee to strike a deal now for his transfer to Anfield Stadium on the 1st of July 2018 to get ahead of the competition.

The transfer fee will break Liverpool’s transfer record, which was earlier set this summer with the £36.9m they paid for Egyptian Mohamed Salah.

Aside winger Mohamed Salah, Liverpool have brought in Andrew Robertson for £8m and Dominic Solanke after his deal at Chelsea expired.

Liverpool are also set to test AS Monaco’s resolve to keep Thomas Lemar with a bid of around £60m before the transfer window slams shut on Thursday.
