According to reports, Chelsea ‘rebel’ striker Diego Costa has been told to return to his club Chelsea’s training base despite his standoff with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
The former Athletico Madrid striker is currently in his country home Brazil and refusing to head back to Chelsea’s Cobham training ground after being informed via text message he was not part of head coach Antonio Conte’s plans for the new season.
The Brazil born Spaniard wanted to force a transfer back to his former team- Athletico Madrid during the recently shut summer transfer window – but the two side’s couldn’t agree on a transfer fee, with the Spanish La Liga club under a transfer ban and cannot register new players until January.
According to reports, the Spain international striker is refusing to train with Chelsea’s U23 side, but according to latest reports credited to Calciomercato, that situation could be about to change.
Calciomercato claim Atletico Madrid have advised Costa to return to Chelsea and resume training with his West London club, despite his current standoff with head coach Antonio Conte and the club.
Costa has been named in Chelsea’s 25-man Premier League squad for the new 2017/18 season but is not expected to kick a ball for Chelsea again unless something changes in the nearest future.
Diego Costa, 28, played 35 matches in the League for the Blues last campaign, scoring 20 goals.
