Deal Off: Ex-Liverpool Striker Rejects £15m China Move

Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke is reluctant to move to the Chinese Super League this summer according to the publication from popular media outlet Goal.

Chinese Super League outfit Shandong Luneng had earlier made a bid for the former Liverpool player but it seems like the Belgian striker is not interested in swapping the Premier League for China.

Earlier on Wednesday, widespread media reports emanating from the British media claimed that Chinese club Shandong Luneng have made a £15m bid in their quest to sign the aforementioned Benteke this summer.

Christian Benteke does not want to join Shandong Luneng as things stand.

The Eagles were open to his sale despite the fact that the money offered was half of what the South Londoners spent on him.

Christian Benteke became a Crystal Palace player in 2016 after the Eagles paid Liverpool around £27m for his transfer in addition to a further £5m dependent on add-ons.

He was a Liverpool player for just one season before his transfer to Crystal Palace.

Christian Benteke scored nine goals in 29 Premier League appearances during his time at Anfield.

The Belgian national team player has not enjoyed the best of times at Crystal Palace for the last two seasons and that’s partly due to fitness problems.
