Premier League leaders Liverpool are the overwhelming favourites to sign Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne according to reports coming out of the British media.
The specific publication from the Daily Mirror claimed that the Reds are ahead of the other interested clubs in the race to sign Italian international Insigne.
Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne is said to be contemplating leaving his boyhood club this summer after his recent frustrations while playing for his beloved team.
Insigne was booed off by the Napoli supporters in one of their recent games in Europa League.
The petite attacker was jeered by his own supporters while he was substituted during the Europa League quarterfinal second leg meeting with Premier League giants Arsenal.
Gunners striker Alexandre Lacazette scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal secured a 1-0 away win over Insigne and his team to record a 3-0 aggregate victory.
Arsenal had won the home leg 2-0 through goals from Aaron Ramsey and Kalidou Koulibaly (own goal).
Apart from Liverpool, Lorenzo Insigne has also been linked with clubs like Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan, French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and Chelsea.
He’s expected to set any interested club back to the tune of £60m.
Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti recently told his players that they could leave the club if they want in one of his recent pressers.
