Monaco star player Tiemoue Bakayoko has been in the news recently and is expected to leave the French club this summer after agreeing to join Premier League champions, Chelsea.
French radio station RMC Sport are claiming that the Stamford Bridge club have struck an agreement with the France international.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen on bolstering his midfield department ahead of a busy campaign next season and has decided to bring in another defensive midfielder.
The Italian boss has reportedly made Bakayoko one of his priority summer targets, and the 22-year-old will be coming to West London to sign a five-year deal.
RMC also insisted that the defensive midfielder will arrive London next week to undergo a medical and to talk about the final details of the agreement. His arrival is now expected to trigger the exit of Nemanja Matic from Stamford Bridge.
Bakayoko’s presence in Antonio Conte’s squad will obviously translate into less playing time for Matic, and it is understood that the Serbia international is on his way to reunite with former manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Antonio Conte is set to lead Chelsea to play in the Champions League as well as to defend the premier league title.
