Deal Almost Done! Chelsea manager set to sacrifice squad harmony by signing big-name striker this month

Chelsea are allegedly set to risk their team harmony by softening their position on player contracts aged 30 or even more with the move of striker Edin Dzeko.

As reported by Independent, Chelsea will offer the experienced striker a two-and-a-half-year contract to join the club as they seek to ease their forward crisis.

The former Manchester City striker has played in England before, winning the League title on two occasions with City, and he could be a valuable asset to the Chelsea squad.

Still, the same publication states that this move may risk player unity such as Pedro, Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill as they’ll possibly now feel they also deserve longer-term deals.

The Blues’ contract policy is normally not to hand more than a-year contract extensions to players over age 30, but Edin Dzeko will be 32 in two months and seems prepared to be brought to west London with a longer deal.

With the reigning Champions already struggling this season, it remains to be viewed if the presence of the big striker up front will make up for possibly causing more unrest in the dressing room at Stamford Bridge.

The Evening Standard suggest the Blues have held discussions with Dzeko’s representative in London and that a move appears to be edging more closer to completion.
