Arsenal legend pleads with Emery on playing system

David Seaman

Since the arrival of Arsenal Manager, Unai Emery in the summer, club’s legends have continued to have their say on the new manager and what they expect of him.

Emery arrived at the Emirates Stadium following the departure of former boss, Arsene Wenger, who was at the center stage of the club for 22 years.

Wenger, despite leaving the club is currently the most successful manager the Arsenal has ever had and one will not expect any standard and result as less as it was from Emery.

Upon his arrival, the former PSG manager introduced a playing system that has become a subject of argument as the players are yet to fully adapt.

He has insisted on a playing pattern that allows the team to build an attack from behind and also a pressing style of football which the players are still learning.

Arsenal legend David Seaman is one of those who has an opinion on the playing system and he thinks the Spaniard should have a little compromise on the style as it is yet to work for the team.

The former goalkeeper who has considered the shaky performance of Petr Cech doesn’t think the build-up pattern from the back will work.

He noted that the pattern is a big change that is entirely new to the club and players hence must not be insisted on the team.

Arsenal under Emery has seen two wins and two defeats so far and will be facing Newcastle after the international break.
